Marvel: What if...the Multiverse was doomed?

What if... a Watcher saved the Multiverse? Victor von Doom was never one to simply accept his fate. He swept his way across the vast labyrinth of the Multiverse, altering the course of universe after universe. But their sacrifice was one he was willing to make. Every new world granted him the means to conquer his destiny and embrace something bigger than himself, a fate beyond the confines of his own reality. And at long last he has the final piece he needs to uncover the whereabouts of the person this was all for: a boy named Franklin. America Chavez and Kitty Pryde are battered and broken. Thrown together by the wreckage of a shattered universe, they realize that even with the Phoenix Force barely contained within Kitty, they need a team. A team who has as much skin in the game as they do. So America must gather the nexus beings that survived Doom-Loki, the Scarlet Witch, and Venom-Moon Knight-to make one last stand. Love is an immutable constant in all of reality. But it also is the catalyst for the greatest change. Taking up arms as Avengers of the Multiverse, the group must give up their comfort and security to find Franklin Richards before Doom. Can they save all of reality, or must they avenge everyone they've ever loved?"-- Provided by publisher.

Stories by sea: a lighthouse library's journey

"Step back in time to explore the fascinating journey of a brass-bound case filled with books as it travels from lighthouse to lighthouse, connecting lighthouse keepers and their families to the rest of the world. Tending a lighthouse was a lonely job, and obtaining supplies and communicating with people beyond their isolated home could be difficult. In 1876, portable libraries made up of sturdy books contained in wooden cases started circulating on lighthouse supply ships. These books provided information and entertainment for lighthouse keepers and their families. And each stop along the way became part of this innovative library's own story. With lovely prose by debut author Jessica Iwanski and detailed illustrations by award-winning illustrator Angela C. Hawkins, Stories by Sea tells the true story of traveling library boxes and the courage and persistence of those who received them, got lost in their pages, and sent them on to the next stop"--

About This Event

What's a book birthday bash?
It's a celebration with 13 local authors/illustrators and their books that just hit shelves this year!
Pick up a passport, meet all 13 attendees, and keep an ear out for the prize raffles happening every 15 minutes!
We had over 200 children in attendance in just 2 hours last year, so we've moved this to a bigger venue: the pavilion at Farmhouse Village, just across the parking lot from the bookshop. Come early and take your time to visit each author/illustrator in attendance!
Click through to our website for a full list of authors/illustrators in attendance.
SCHOOLS: Many of these authors are planning school visits in advance of the 10/24 Book Birthday Bash. Contact us to schedule a visit!
