Silent Book Club (Audiobook Walk Listening Party Edition)
6:30 PM • Thursday, June 18, 2026New Book Joy - BrookfieldFree Local Readers (GROWN-UPS) - Join us for a SPECIAL FREE SILENT BOOK CLUB / AUDIOBOOK WALK LISTENING PARTY EXPERIENCE - starting and ending at our NEW New Book Joy Booktique in Brookfield - in celebration of Audiobook Month! (BONUS: THE FIRST 10 ATTENDEES WILL GET A FREE AUDIOBOOK CREDIT FROM OUR AMAZING AUDIOBOOK PARTNER: LIBRO.FM!!!) We'll meet at our bookstore, then embark on an hour-long quiet "reading" listening time adventure together while taking a walk to (and through!) Kiwanis Park from 6:30-7:30 PM.* All attendees will enjoy their audiobooks of choice on their own portable devices, and though all audiobook platforms are permitted for the listening portion of our event, we encourage downloading the Libro.FM app (and selecting New Book Joy as your local bookstore) before the event so you're ready to receive your FREE AUDIOBOOK CREDIT. IN CASE OF INCLEMENT WEATHER, WE WILL MOVE OUR AUDIOBOOK LISTENING PARTY INSIDE OUR BOOKTIQUE! Feel free to bring coloring books, journals / sketchbooks, knitting needles / hand sewing projects, or any other quiet activities to enjoy while listening too. In either circumstance, we will host an optional 30 minute soirée in our bookstore after the event from 7:30-8 PM too so that readers can have the opportunity mix and mingle with other local Brookfield / Chicagoland book lovers to talk about what they're reading & GET AN EXCLUSIVE DISCOUNT if they choose to shop our curated selection of books and reading pairings afterwards (talk about some good self-care)! P.S. Our in-store events are ALWAYS BRING YOUR OWN BEVERAGE (yes, that includes our Audiobook Walk Listening Party too!), so feel free to bring some sips to enjoy while you read as well (we'll have a few mocktails / NA options available for sale, but encourage attendees to bring their favorites too)... SWEET 'N SALTY SNACKS WILL BE AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE before or during the event as well! CANCELLATION NOTE: IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND, PLEASE LET US KNOW ASAP so we can pass along your ticket to another reader! *ACCESSIBILITY NOTE: THIS IS A 3/4 MILE MINIMUM WALK (OR MORE IF YOU'D LIKE TO TAKE MORE LAPS AROUND THE PARK WITH US)! GUESTS ARE INVITED TO WALK AS A GROUP OR SPLIT OFF TO WALK AT THEIR OWN PACE. IF THE ENTIRE WALK IS NOT FEASIBLE FOR YOU OR YOUR CREW, WE INVITE YOU TO PICK A PARK BENCH TO SIT AND LISTEN TO YOUR AUDIOBOOK - YOU'LL STILL BE A PART OF THE PARTY! (There's plenty of parking around the park too, if you'd rather meet us at the park instead of our Booktique to save you some steps.)
