THURSDAY, OCTOBER 1ST / 6-7:30 PM / JOURNALING CLUB WRITING EXPERIENCE + MINGLE @ NEW BOOK JOY'S NEW BOOKTIQUE IN BROOKFIELD Local Readers + Aspiring Writers (GROWN-UPS 21+) - Join us in-person at our NEW New Book Joy Booktique in Brookfield for our very first Journaling Club inspired by The Book of Alchemy by Suleika Jaouad. This writing-forward experience will be led by Carisa Deegan, a Brookfield-based journaler and Creative Strategist who loves creating calm, reflective spaces for connection and self-expression. You'll be guided through several journaling prompts, spend extended time writing quietly together, and have optional moments to share reflections. There's no pressure to share and no expectation to be a "writer." Suleika describes a journaling club as "a gathering that's equal parts tender and mischievious... to write together. To share - or not share. To surprise yourself." We ask that you bring your own notebook (or PRE-ORDER THE OFFICIAL ALCHEMY JOURNAL - PICTURED ABOVE - BY CLICKING THE CHECKBOX BENEATH THE DROPDOWN MENU ON THE SIGN-UP PAGE!) along with a writing utensil of your choice (writing surfaces may be limited, so please be prepared to journal on your lap if we have a full house!), and come as you are... We'll meet at our bookstore, then embark on an hour-long quiet "reading" listening time adventure together while taking a walk to (and through!)
