About the Venue

Cupid's Bookshop
Cupid’s is more than a bookstore, it’s a judgment‑free zone where diverse love stories are celebrated openly. Tina envisioned a store where readers don’t have to hide their favorite tropes—be it aliens, faeries, dragons, or adventure romances—and where workshops, midnight release parties, and author signings are part of the romance culture. Community is at our core. We host monthly book clubs spanning romantasy, contemporary romance, dark romance, and LGBTQ+ titles—each one a welcoming space for readers to gush, cry, debate tropes, and bond over their favorite book boyfriends (and girlfriends, and morally gray magical beings). Whether you're new to romance or a lifelong lover of the genre, our book clubs are designed to make you feel seen, heard, and completely at home.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Her touch kills, his saves the dying. Are they fated, or forbidden? Tempest Dunlap loves romance novels, but she knows she’ll never have her own happily-ever-after. She is a sweatpants-wearing doula who homeschools her seven-year-old niece in suburban New Jersey. Unfortunately, she’s also a succubus: Every man she’s ever kissed has died. But Tempest is a good person who never intended to be a murderer, so she’s sworn off love forever. Then she meets Joel Tav, a gorgeous, gentle doctor who makes celibacy feel impossible. Tempest knows she can’t touch him—or tell him his brother was the last man she dated and accidentally killed. Meanwhile, a vigilante is hunting people with dark powers, and Tempest is next. Should she keep hiding in her safe, lonely life, or should she embrace the darkness she fears and risk the ultimate forbidden romance? Maybe Tempest will get her love story after all . . . or maybe she’ll become its villain. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: KATE FOX lives with her husband, daughters, and two fluffy cats in an old house in an old town in the universally admired state of New Jersey, where she looks for magic in mundane places. Her favorite trope is enemies to lovers, as long as they're really enemies.

Women Who Kill Event
WOMEN WHO KILL Seven women. Countless fictional victims. Zero convictions. Friday, November 6, 2026 | 7 PM Cupid's Bookshop 4347 Main Street, Manayunk, Philadelphia 18+ | Tickets: $10 (includes $10 store credit) PUBLIC SAFETY WARNING: AN UNUSUALLY HIGH CONCENTRATION OF WOMEN WHO KILL HAS BEEN REPORTED IN MANAYUNK. Don't panic. They're authors. We're bringing together seven women who know how to write a hell of a story, and we're giving them a microphone. For generations, women in literature have been expected to suffer gracefully, forgive endlessly, and survive whatever terrible things the plot throws at them. But what happens when women stop playing nice? When they get angry? When they want revenge? When they become the villain, the monster, the mastermind, or something altogether more complicated? MEET THE SUSPECTS: Christina Henry Hannah Morrissey Stephanie Feldman Diana Rodriguez Wallach Rebekah Faubion Olivia Worley Sybil Knight Together, these seven authors will explore the darker side of storytelling across genres, from dangerous desires and deadly secrets to rage, obsession, revenge, and women who refuse to be reduced to victims. We'll be asking the questions that polite society would rather we didn't. Why does female rage make people so uncomfortable? Why do we love morally complicated women? Why are women expected to be likable, even when they're fictional? And why is there something so satisfying about a woman who finally decides she's had enough? Expect a lively, unfiltered conversation, plenty of dark humor, and opportunities to meet the authors. YOUR ADMISSION ISN'T LOST MONEY. Tickets are $10, and your admission includes $10 in store credit to put toward your next read. This event is strictly 18+. Seven women. One night. A whole lot of motives. The only other place you'd find this many women who kill together is a penitentiary. And unlike prison, this one comes with books.
