Cupid's Bookshop

Cupid’s is more than a bookstore, it’s a judgment‑free zone where diverse love stories are celebrated openly. Tina envisioned a store where readers don’t have to hide their favorite tropes—be it aliens, faeries, dragons, or adventure romances—and where workshops, midnight release parties, and author signings are part of the romance culture.

Community is at our core. We host monthly book clubs spanning romantasy, contemporary romance, dark romance, and LGBTQ+ titles—each one a welcoming space for readers to gush, cry, debate tropes, and bond over their favorite book boyfriends (and girlfriends, and morally gray magical beings). Whether you're new to romance or a lifelong lover of the genre, our book clubs are designed to make you feel seen, heard, and completely at home.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Her touch kills, his saves the dying. Are they fated, or forbidden? Tempest Dunlap loves romance novels, but she knows she’ll never have her own happily-ever-after. She is a sweatpants-wearing doula who homeschools her seven-year-old niece in suburban New Jersey. Unfortunately, she’s also a succubus: Every man she’s ever kissed has died. But Tempest is a good person who never intended to be a murderer, so she’s sworn off love forever. Then she meets Joel Tav, a gorgeous, gentle doctor who makes celibacy feel impossible. Tempest knows she can’t touch him—or tell him his brother was the last man she dated and accidentally killed. Meanwhile, a vigilante is hunting people with dark powers, and Tempest is next. Should she keep hiding in her safe, lonely life, or should she embrace the darkness she fears and risk the ultimate forbidden romance? Maybe Tempest will get her love story after all . . . or maybe she’ll become its villain. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: KATE FOX lives with her husband, daughters, and two fluffy cats in an old house in an old town in the universally admired state of New Jersey, where she looks for magic in mundane places. Her favorite trope is enemies to lovers, as long as they're really enemies.

Women Who Kill Event

7:00 PM • Friday, November 6, 2026Cupid's Bookshop$10

WOMEN WHO KILL Seven women. Countless fictional victims. Zero convictions. Friday, November 6, 2026 | 7 PM Cupid's Bookshop 4347 Main Street, Manayunk, Philadelphia 18+ | Tickets: $10 (includes $10 store credit) PUBLIC SAFETY WARNING: AN UNUSUALLY HIGH CONCENTRATION OF WOMEN WHO KILL HAS BEEN REPORTED IN MANAYUNK. Don't panic. They're authors. We're bringing together seven women who know how to write a hell of a story, and we're giving them a microphone. For generations, women in literature have been expected to suffer gracefully, forgive endlessly, and survive whatever terrible things the plot throws at them. But what happens when women stop playing nice? When they get angry? When they want revenge? When they become the villain, the monster, the mastermind, or something altogether more complicated? MEET THE SUSPECTS: Christina Henry Hannah Morrissey Stephanie Feldman Diana Rodriguez Wallach Rebekah Faubion Olivia Worley Sybil Knight Together, these seven authors will explore the darker side of storytelling across genres, from dangerous desires and deadly secrets to rage, obsession, revenge, and women who refuse to be reduced to victims. We'll be asking the questions that polite society would rather we didn't. Why does female rage make people so uncomfortable? Why do we love morally complicated women? Why are women expected to be likable, even when they're fictional? And why is there something so satisfying about a woman who finally decides she's had enough? Expect a lively, unfiltered conversation, plenty of dark humor, and opportunities to meet the authors. YOUR ADMISSION ISN'T LOST MONEY. Tickets are $10, and your admission includes $10 in store credit to put toward your next read. This event is strictly 18+. Seven women. One night. A whole lot of motives. The only other place you'd find this many women who kill together is a penitentiary. And unlike prison, this one comes with books. Event details: Date: Friday, November 6, 2026 Time: 7:00 PM Location: Cupid's Bookshop - 4347 Main Street. Philadelphia, PA 19127 Tickets: $10 per person — store credit that can be used towards the purchase of a book by one of the authors. ABOUT THE BOOK: From the author of the “colorful, sweet, and swoony” (Mallory Marlowe, USA TODAY bestselling author) Hopelessly Teavoted comes a witchy, sapphic rom-com about a mischievous runaway bride and her prim-and-proper Witchery Council rival who must fake-date in order to catch a would-be murderer—and accidentally fall in love. Priscilla Hart does not do regret—except maybe for the spectacularly disastrous choice of fleeing her own wedding in a cloud of magical fireworks. Now the town’s most infamous runaway witch, she’s determined to rebuild her reputation on the Witchery Council and prove she’s more than a scandal in designer heels. Agatha Vanderbilt Voisin, the newly elected council president, is everything Priscilla can’t stand: composed, proper, and infuriatingly perfect. But when a string of dangerous magical explosions points to Priscilla as the culprit, Agatha makes an impulsive move—announcing that they’re dating—to save her from exile. Faking a relationship in public should be simple even for such opposites…until late-night arguments turn into slow-burn attraction, and the two discover that something wicked is brewing in Hallowcross. To survive the magic—and their feelings—they’ll have to stop pretending and risk falling for real. Can they outwit a magic powerful enough to destroy them, or will trust be the most dangerous risk of all? ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Audrey Goldberg, who also wrote as Audrey Goldberg Ruoff, writes contemporary and speculative romcoms and fantasy. She also teaches high school and lives her bookish dream of talking about stories all day, like Valerie Frizzle, but for secondary education. She has a BA in English Literature and Composition and Secondary Education, and a M.Ed. in Teaching Leadership, Learning, and Policy, with an emphasis on Curriculum Writing, all from the University of Maryland, College Park. She lives in Maryland with two small children who already stay up late reading, a witchy black cat with orange cat energy, and a scrappy but loyal little dog. Hopelessly Teavoted, her debut adult romcom, is a witchy romcom that published in September 2025 with Atria Books. Her sophomore novel, Vengefully Matched, is coming in October 2026, also from Atria, and her YA debut, Personal Space Issues, is coming from Harper Teen March 2027.

ABOUT THE BOOKS: You Make It Feel Like Christmas by Christine Drummond She fixes everyone's messes. Coming home means facing the one man who never needed fixing. Charlotte "Charlie" Hayes has built a career out of fixing other people's disasters. As a music publicist, she can spin a scandal, save a reputation, and make the messiest men look good-even the one she's dating. So when her famous boyfriend's career implodes right before Christmas, Charlie throws herself into saving him-until Brent cancels their lease without telling her and vanishes on his comeback tour. Homeless and single, Charlie's forced back to the small Connecticut hometown she thought she'd escaped, complete with holiday lights, dark family memories, and Hunter: her steady, maddeningly good best friend, who she's been avoiding for months. Hunter Wells has spent years being the one who stays, who shows up-and who loved Charlie quietly because he knew she wasn't ready. But now she's back, and he's done waiting. With his thriving dog-walking business rooting him in Pinegrove, Hunter doesn't need saving. He needs Charlie to stop running long enough to imagine the life she never let herself want-with him. As Charlie manages her ex's high-pressure tour and her own uncertain career from afar, small-town Christmas starts to feel less like a temporary escape and more like one mess she can't clean up-and maybe doesn't want to. But Hunter will always belong to the town she spent years outrunning, and Charlie won't easily risk the new beginning she fought so hard for. For their love to last beyond Christmas, they'll have to answer the hardest question: can they create a future big enough for both their dreams? The Christmas Countdown by Linny Mack Lucy Sullivan swore she'd never spend another Christmas in Birch Harbor. Not after Dylan Mercer drowned ten years ago. Not after the town turned his death into a tragedy no one wanted to talk about. And definitely not after she left behind Dean Walker-the boy who stayed by her side when her entire world fell apart. But when her parents announce they're leaving Maine for good, Lucy returns home for one last Sullivan Family Christmas, expecting little more than awkward reunions and memories she's spent years trying to outrun. Birch Harbor's newest detective, Dean Walker has spent the last decade trying to move on from the girl who disappeared from his life without warning. But the moment Lucy walks back into town, old feelings come rushing to the surface-and so do questions surrounding Dylan's death. When mysterious gifts begin appearing on Lucy's doorstep-each one connected to the night Dylan died-it becomes impossible to ignore the past. Everyone in Birch Harbor has always believed Dylan's death was an accident. But someone remembers exactly what happened on the icy harbor that night. And they're determined to make sure the truth stays buried. As the truth draws them closer, Lucy and Dean begin to wonder if coming home might mean more than finally putting the past to rest-it might mean finding their way back to each other.

ABOUT THE BOOK: Chelsea has never cared about sports. But when she’s invited to sit courtside at a New York Rebels game, she welcomes the break from her usual routine. Adrienne “AD” Daniels is a player on and off the court, notorious for their inability to stay in a relationship. Still, something about Chelsea sticks with them—even though their instant connection can’t bring AD to offer more than one night. But AD’s agent makes a pitch: Chelsea should pretend to be AD’s girlfriend. It’s a strategic move. AD, hoping to retire after this season, needs to lock down some brand deals—but their identity as a Black, nonbinary lesbian with a messy dating history makes sponsors wary. Chelsea, a sex-positive influencer, is ready to take her platform to a new level, and this feels like the perfect next step. With Chelsea’s network and AD’s star power, they could both strengthen their public images. Once the season ends, they’ll go their separate ways. As the ruse starts to work and their connection deepens, Chelsea finds herself on unsteady ground. Falling for AD wasn’t part of the plan, and if she follows through, she just might lose her heart and the future she’s finally starting to build. ABOUT THE AUTHOR: Zakiya N. ABOUT THE BOOK: Gabriel Hargrave, vampire crown prince, should be sitting on a throne right now. Instead, he’s on “diplomatic assignment” — forced to live amongst humans for a decade. He’ll be welcomed back once he proves he can control the thirst prophesied to bring about his destruction. Gabriel thought he was doing the right thing, lying low in the last place anyone would look for him: a SoCal retirement community. But then he gets a warning: there is no test without exposure. Coincidentally, temptation just came knocking. Harper Calloway makes great television. As the brains behind all the juiciest moments on Rare Pair: America’s Most Exceptional Dating Experiment, she thought she was irreplaceable until one bitter male lead got her fired. Down and out, she takes a house-sitting gig for her grandmother and stumbles upon the answer to all her problems in the vampire next door. If she can deliver Gabriel—poised to be the first vampire on a reality dating show—to the network, she’ll get the only thing she wants more than her job back: redemption. The problem? Gabriel doesn't fit the dark and dangerous fantasy of a vampire prince; the only thing he’s got less experience with than dating is drinking blood. Harper has her work cut out for her when the network gives her three weeks to get him ready to woo advertisers as the face of next season. If he flops, she’s going down with him. ABOUT THE CONVERSATION PARTNER: Alexandria Bellefleur is an award-winning USA Today bestselling author of swoony contemporary romance often featuring loveable grumps and the sunshine characters who bring them to their knees. A Pacific Northwesterner at heart, Alexandria now lives in New York City with her cats, Mills and Boon. Her special skills include finding the best Pad Thai in every city she visits, remembering faces but not names, falling asleep in movie theaters, and keeping cool while reading smutty books in public. Her debut novel, Written in the Stars, was a 2021 Lambda Literary Award winner and a 2020 winner of The Ripped Bodice Awards for Excellence in Romantic Fiction. Purchase tickets now on Eventbrite.

A lovely flat in London. Supportive friends. A hefty inheritance. The one thing he covets—a life with Amy Callagan—is the only thing he cannot have. Not without costing those he loves everything. For two years, Amy Callagan has held out hope that Oliver may return to her one day.
