From the latest releases and best-seller favorites to inventive lesser-known titles, Old Haunts Bookshop provides the community with a safe space to explore new worlds and expand knowledge through a curated selection of fiction and non-fiction books.
The store also offers a lineup of fun and novel gifts to share with friends and loved ones, as well as items to enhance the reading experience. Old Haunts aims to be just that, an old haunt: a place one remembers fondly and visits regularly.
Upcoming Events
This month we are reading and discussing James by Percival Everett. The Old Haunts Book Club meets once per month on a Thursday, usually the 2nd or 3rd Thursday, whichever falls closest to the middle of the month. We read across genres and member ages range from 20s to 80s.
Archana Maniar is releasing her new historical fiction novel The Lost Photograph and celebrating right here at Old Haunts Bookshop. She'll be joined in a conversation and Q&A by author Sharon Fujimoto-Johnson (Shell Song and The Mochi Makers). After the talk, Archana will hang out for a meet-and-greet and sign books for those who purchase them.
Join author Autumn Lindsey in celebrating the release of All That Remains, a paranormal romance novel. She'll discuss the book and sign copies should you wish to buy one.
Author Amy Jo Gunther will be here to read and sign her new children’s book, Say Hi to the Scareacters, a young reader chapter book perfect for kids age 6-10. Plus a build-a-monster craft with the author!
Our friend and horror author/screenwriter Mark Steensland is organizing a book swap event happening at 2 PM at Old Haunts Bookshop. Come shop for 30 minutes, purchase a book you enjoy, then at 2:30, each person will be called to swap the book for one that another participant purchased. Come find your new favorite book, and share your old favorite with someone!
For spooky month, we are reading A Short Stay in Hell by Steven L Peck. This one is more existential than horrific, so please don't be scared away by this brilliant novella even if you wouldn't normally read "horror" books! It is not scary in a gory or jump scare or murderous kind of way.
